Okay, so I have never been a fan of Anime. Only anime I guess that I’ve ever watched were scattered episodes here & there of Sailor Moon whenever they ran them on UPN back in the 90s. However I kept hearing good stuff about anime & I was determined to see what the fuss was about! I went to -where else - Netflix & browsed the collection they have on Instant Watch. That is when I found Elfen Lied …

This series is from 2004 and only consists of
Spotted on Spotify: Okay, so I didn’t technically spot this song on Spotify; Instead, the director of Spork posted this vid on his Facebook page & I fell in love with the song by Koortwah &, not to mention, the simplicity of the music video.
After having what I assumed was a soothing ear-gasm, I opened up my Spotify to see if I could find more stuff on this dude and I did! I found his album, “Lay Them Wise”, and I absolutely loved it.
Definitely check out the song in the video above & if you like, check out more of Koortwah’s songs by streaming his album on Spotify!
A while back I was shifting through my long ass list of movies on my Netflix queue before ultimately ignoring all the films that have sat there {for a VERY long time} collecting dust. I shifted my attention to the new releases section and found a little film cover that caught my attention. That film was Spork.

Directed & written by hottie JB Ghumen Jr. (& one of us, gays!), Spork is the story of little girl…er, boy? Well I suppose girl is the proper term in this case. Anyway, she/he/it was born a hermaphrodite - thus the kids at school call her SPORK (because it is a 2 in 1 kinda thing, get it?). Spork is a lonely girl who chooses to enter a dance competition in order to show what’s she’s worse to a group of very mean girls lead by head bitch, “Betsy Beeyotch” - a name I have come to fall in love with ever since I watched this movie!

The story has plenty of streaks chalked with dark humor that is fueled by a witty and clever script. The kids in this film curse & say stuff that will leave you both laughing and gasping because you can’t believe that just came out of the mouth of a 13 year old (??). Check the trailer out and, if you have it, watch this little gem of an indie film streaming now on Netflix.

Check out this list of the 20 Best Movies on Netflix Instant streaming before they are pulled tomorrow. As we reported in September, Starz will be pulling its huge catalog from Netflix after the contract between the two companies expires on February 29th.
Alrighty folks, if you’ve a long list of movies to watch in your streaming queue I suggest you head on over to that list and see if there is red text next to the title announcing that they will only be available until February 29th (That’s tomorrow!). Turns out that the contract between Netflix & Starz has come to an end and we will no longer be able to stream movies such as Tangled, Beetlejuice, & Toy Story 3. Head on over to the link to read the article in full and to also check out a very long list of the movies being pulled from Netflix. Did I mention it’s 800 movies?
Spotted on Spotify: Okay, this is going to be a new little thing I do with my blog. I’m going to share with you guys little “personal” discoveries (I use quotations because, while you may have already known about these featured songs, I hadn’t!) I find while perusing the many different bands on Spotify (LOVE this program).
For the first segment I’d like to feature the song “Contact High” by Architecture in Helsinki.
I love the beats of this song and the vocals of the singer when he sings the chorus pretty much gives me an Eargasm. Too much info? Maybe. Take a listen and then, if you’ve never heard of this band before, go look’em up on Spotify. They have some pretty good tunes.
And for more info on this awesome Australian indie pop band, check out their website HERE.
Yikes! Pencils - Who remembers these cool, funky, & colorful pencils from the 90s? I owned many different ones & was always disappointed whenever my teacher asked me to use a regular number 2 pencil for bubbling in on pop quizzes.
Oh, & BTW, check out the nifty shapes on the Yikes! Erasers on the right of the pic - it seems the 90s were all about these crazy neon-colored shapes, right? Ah … *nostalgia attack*.
I LOVE THIS!

For those of you who are single - don’t be sad, be strong!
Matt Bomer has, apparently, come out during a speech he gave over the weekend. Turns out this gorgeous man has a partner named Simon and has children.

Just look at those eyes, will ya? Dark hair + light eyes = Hubba, Hubba.
OK so maybe he’s not single, but it stirs a nice warm & fuzzy feeling in my heart to know he bats for our team. Like I needed any more reason to go watch him in his upcoming film, Magic Mike.
